Depending on the diameter and type of the electrofusion fitting placed on the pipe, voltage (usually 40V) is supplied for a certain period of time. The internal heating coils then melt the interior of the fitting and the exterior of the pipe wall, creating a very strong homogeneous joint, which completes the welding process. The welded part is then allowed to cool for a certain period of time.
