butterfly valve with a tracking switch is used in water supply lines to isolate (control) internal zones. Primarily used in fire extinguishing systems, the position of the valve must be visible and electrically traceable. The tracking switch is located inside the valve and has a small indicator on it that indicates whether it is open or closed.
